Where is Panania, NSW 2213?

Panania is approximately 23 kilometres south-west of Sydney CBD, positioned between Revesby, East Hills, Picnic Point and Milperra. The M5 South Western Motorway forms its northern boundary, while its town centre spreads around Panania railway station, Weston Street and Anderson Avenue.

The suburb shares postcode 2213 with East Hills and Picnic Point.

A Brief History of Panania

Panania’s name was chosen before the suburb had fully taken shape. It appeared on a list of proposed stations for the new Tempe–East Hills railway in 1929, when the surrounding district was still better known for orchards, poultry farms and scattered rural properties.

The most familiar interpretation of the name is an Aboriginal expression meaning “sun rising in the east and shining on the hills.” Other names, including Nioka, Linden Park and Elmswood, were considered during railway planning, but Panania was ultimately selected. That bright meaning gives Panania, NSW one of the more memorable suburb-name stories in south-west Sydney.

Everything changed when the station opened on 21 December 1931 as part of the East Hills railway extension. Shops gathered close to the platforms, commuting became easier and residential streets began replacing the earlier farming landscape. Growth accelerated again after the Second World War, when housing was built for returned servicemen and their families.

Today, Panania is part of the City of Canterbury-Bankstown. Its town centre remains closely tied to the railway, yet the suburb quickly becomes quieter once you move into its family streets and leafy neighbourhood reserves.

Flowers Around Panania’s Station-Side Centre

Panania’s daily rhythm can be seen around Weston Street, Anderson Avenue and Tower Street. Commuters pass through the station, locals stop at cafés and shops, and families move between nearby schools, services and community facilities.

Flower delivery can be arranged near:

• Panania railway station

• Weston Street shopping precinct

• Anderson Avenue

• Tower Street

• Panania Library and Knowledge Centre

• Local cafés, offices and family homes

An arrangement might be delivered to someone’s workplace before lunch, waiting at home after their commute or carried into a restaurant for an evening celebration.

A Sunny Afternoon at Cammarlie Reserve

Cammarlie Reserve offers a relaxed neighbourhood setting with a playground, basketball hoop, sheltered seating and walkways. It is the kind of local park where a casual birthday, children’s gathering or weekend catch-up can come together without needing a formal venue.

Flowers can add a personal touch to:

• Birthday picnics

• Family reunions

• Engagement announcements

• Community thank-you events

• Farewells for neighbours

• Small anniversary gatherings

A cheerful bouquet can become part of the table, while flowers delivered after the event are a thoughtful way to thank the person who brought everyone together.

Hospital Flowers Near Panania

When someone is recovering away from home, a delivery can break up the routine of the day and remind them that family, friends or colleagues are thinking of them.

Hospitals within practical reach of Panania include:

Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital

Liverpool Hospital

St George Hospital

Sutherland Hospital

Include the patient’s full name and ward with the order. Some treatment areas cannot accept fresh flowers, so confirming the hospital’s policy beforehand can prevent delivery problems.

Celebrating Panania’s Schools and Teachers

Panania has several established schools serving local families from the early primary years through secondary education. These include:

• Panania Public School

• Panania North Public School

• Tower Street Public School

• St Christopher’s Catholic Primary School

• East Hills Boys High School

• East Hills Girls Technology High School

The suburb’s educational history also has an unusual detail: Panania North Public School later became a demonstration school where trainee teachers from the former Milperra College of Advanced Education could observe classroom teaching.

Flowers can celebrate a student award, graduation, school production or sporting result. They are equally meaningful when thanking a teacher, learning-support worker or principal who has helped a child grow in confidence.

Let Someone Wake Up to a Brighter Day

Panania’s name has long been connected with the image of sunlight reaching the hills. A fresh flower delivery carries a similar feeling: colour arriving unexpectedly, a thoughtful message and a small change to the mood of the day. Flowers on Norton St can prepare something joyful, elegant or comforting for a Panania home, workplace, school or celebration.
